The Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra , MASSOB , on Sunday lampooned the federal government and Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, who are currently engaged in a dialogue to end the new wave of violence in the oil -rich Niger Delta, describing their condition to free detained Director of Radio Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu, as laughable.
The spokesperson for MEND , Jomo Gbomo , had in an online statement weekend, disclosed that during the course of dialogue with the government, it was agreed among others that Mr . Kanu, who is leader of the pro -secession group, Indigenous People of Biafra , IPOB , would be released on the that he renounces the agitation of Biafra Republic .
Frowning at the condition for the release of Kanu, the Leader of MASSOB, Uche Madu , in a terse statement issued to journalists in Enugu yesterday , insisted that the agitation for Biafra Republic was hinged on self -determination, which has become a spiritual movement that cannot be stopped by any force.
